In this article we explain how to configure or update the IP address of the Brandtrack Box in environments with specific network configurations.
This procedure is intended for users with technical knowledge or the IT team. An incorrect configuration may prevent the device from connecting to the internet.
Before you start
You will need:
- A screen with HDMI input
- An HDMI cable
- A USB mouse
- Access to a power outlet
- The network details provided by IT (IP, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS)
Steps to configure a static IP
- Connect the screen to the Box using the HDMI cable.
- Connect the USB mouse to the Box.
- Connect the Box to the power outlet and wait for the system to fully boot.
- On the main screen, open the side menu.
- Click the network connections icon.
- Go to the Static IP settings section.
- Select the Static option.
- Fill in the following fields with the IT information:
- IP address
- Subnet mask
- Gateway
- DNS
- Save the changes and restart the device if necessary.
Important
- An incorrect configuration may leave the Box without a connection.
- If you do not have the correct details, do not proceed with this procedure.
- In most cases, automatic configuration (DHCP) is recommended.
Troubleshooting
- The Box does not connect to the internet: check the gateway and DNS.
- It does not sync the content: confirm that the network allows outbound connections.
- It does not respond on the network: check that the IP is not duplicated.
