In this article, we explain in detail the Business Section of the Analytics Dashboard and how to interpret each of its metrics.
This view is aimed at marketing teams and shows how music shapes your customers' experience across all your locations. It includes information organized into four blocks: Top artists & tracks, Genre mix, Sound identity, and Mood & energy.
From here, you can search for specific zones, filter the information by last week or last month, select a custom date range, and generate a downloadable report.
This feature is available starting from the Advanced plan.
What's Playing Most in Your Zones
This section shows a summary of the artists, songs, and genres that define your brand's musical experience in real time:
- Top artists: the most representative artists in your locations.
- Top songs: the most representative songs. You can preview each song to get a fresh idea of what it sounds like.
- Top genres: the distribution of music genres, along with the language mix of the songs played.
Your Sound Identity
This chart shows the balance between energy, tempo, optimism, and acousticness of the music playing in your locations, over a 28-day window. It is shown as a radar chart with five axes:
- Energy: the energy level of the music, measured by production density and instrumentation.
- Optimism: how positive or melancholic the musical harmony is.
- Danceability: how suitable the music is for dancing and keeping your clients in active movement.
- Acousticness: how acoustic (versus electronic) the music is.
-
BPM: the average tempo of the songs, measured in beats per minute.
The chart compares your brand's profile against similar accounts, so you can see how your sound identity compares to other businesses of your type.
The Impact in Numbers
These metrics reflect how music influences your customers' mood and behavior:
- Average energy: the average energy level of the music played, shown as a percentage.
- Average BPM: the average tempo of the songs played.
- Average optimism: the average level of positivity of the musical tone, shown as a percentage.
- Average danceability: how danceable the music played is, on average, shown as a percentage.
Music Homogeneity
Shows how homogeneous the musical energy is across your locations. A value of 100 means all locations sound similar; lower values reflect more variation between local playlists.
If you're aiming for a uniform brand experience, review the locations with lower alignment. If the variation is intentional, no action is needed.
Smart Score
This metric is calculated based on the locations that have a Smart playlist assigned. For example, if the indicator shows "31 of 51 locations," it means only those 31 locations currently have an active Smart playlist, while the rest don't have one assigned yet. You can find more information about this score through the "More about Smart playlist" link.
Ads Played
Shows the total number of ads played across all your locations during the selected period.
Mood & Energy
This section shows, as a percentage, how upbeat the music playing in your locations is over time. The chart includes two lines: one representing your brand, and another representing the average of similar accounts. This comparison serves as a visual reference to see whether what's playing in your business is aligned with what plays in similar accounts.
